Date Me, Baby, One More Time (Immortally Sexy #1)

When I was looking for something new to read I stumbled across the quirky title of Date Me, Baby, One More Time which is the first book in the Immortally Sexy series by and I knew I had to give it a shot based on the title alone.

The books starts out with Derek LaValle, the creator of a carb free nummy pretzel known as Vic's pretzels. Derek is trying to stop a curse that was placed on the males of his family generations ago. Unfortunately for his cousin Les he isn't as successful at first.

Our heroine is the quirky Guardian of Mona aka the Goblet of Eternal Youth, Justine Burnett. Justine's life as the Guardian is pretty boring. She's not allowed to date, or have sex. She has to keep Mona in her sight at all times. Oh and she has too keep her bestie/partner in crime, who just happens to be trapped in the form of a dragon from burning down buildings and people.

The dragon better known as Theresa Nichols spends most of her time eating and having cyber sex, the only kind of sex the former town slut can get in her current form.

Soon Justine and Derek meet and start trying to kill each other. Why you ask? Derek knows about Mona, and thinks he has to drink from her and kill the Guardian to free his family from the curse. Justine as the Guardian has to kill anyone who has knowledge of what she is, and about Mona. Only these two keep putting off the inevitable while Justine tries to find some clause in the Guardian code that would allow her to have sex with Derek, for information to save Mona of course ;0).

Throw in Satan as the greatest lover in the Afterlife, who is obsessed with Justine's dearly departed, but still around mother Iris, the Guardian Council whom seem to have it out for Justine and outside forces that are trying to take out both Justine and Derek and you have a wonderfully funny, romantic supernatural story that was a great, fast read. I loved it so much I purchased the second book Must Love Dragons.
A 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
