1st Review Aisling Grey

So I thought I would start in the realm of dragons...unconventional I know but oh well what can I say it's where I wanted to start. Prolific paranormal romance writer Katie MacAlister known for her Dark Ones aka vampire romances adds on to her paranormal world with the addition of dragons, who take yummy human forms.

The Aisling Grey books follow the dippy, lovable Aisling as she finds herself in one predicament after another when she finds herself through into the Otherworld aka the paranormal realm that she always thought was just fantasy. While the books do have romance in them it is a slow burn, which fits well since this is about fire breathing dragons.

*Contains Spoilers*

The first book in the series You Slay Me, starts her journey from a divorcee' starting over as a courier for her Uncle to Guardian, dragon's mate and of all things a demon lord. She is joined along the way by her lovable demon Jim who loves food, walkies and a corgi named Cecile, a mysterious cab driver Rene who always seems to show up when she needs him most and the leader of the green dragon sept (clan) Drake who claims she is his mate. Aisling is thrown into a murder mystery from the start of the book, where she is the prime suspect. Only finding the real killer can save her, only her suspect pool includes demons, mages and dragons so yeah that is going to be easy right?

In Fire Me Up our new Guardian/demon Lord goes in search for a mentor to teach her the ways of being a Guardian. What she finds is a few more murders, Drake whom she thought she left behind in Paris and Rene who once again is her driver extraordinaire.  Jim and Aisling make a new friend of a professional virgin named Tiffany, who is trying to make the world better one smile at a time. Drake is holding a summit of dragon septs to try for peace and Fiat Blu is still trying to cause trouble.

Light My Fire is the pay off for the romance slow burn. Drake and Aisling are reunited and as Jim would put it let the boink fest begin. Aisling finally has a mentor, and Rene is on hand to help our dear Aisling on her way. Though this is our lovable walking calamity Aisling so you know nothing is going to be easy. Her main squeeze is now involved in a dragon war, and someone keeps trying to kill her. Oh and don't forget the imps. Jim's afternoon snack of the imp king leads to the imps trying to end Aisling. Pay out for this book also includes finding out  Rene's secret.

Holy Smokes leads us to the would be wedding of Aisling and Drake. Notice the words would and be. Nothing goes off the way it should. The red dragons are still after Drake. Gabriel still might be a bad guy and of course theres that whole problem of Aisling being the mate of Fiat Blu at this point, that tricky bastard. In this final book our might be pregnant demon lord Guardian works her butt off to get her man to the altar all while trying to make it out alive.
